Maison Asano is a delightful new Japanese restaurant on Julu Road serving traditional Kappo-Style Japanese course sets in the form of Omakase, a Japanese phrase "to entrust" our master chefs to distinguish and present the freshest selection provided that day. The premium restaurant only takes reservations and serves as a high-end, quality venue. From the street view entrance, you can tell that this is a classy venue – large red text baring the restaurant’s name with a latticed wall illuminated by floor spotlights. The interior is a sleek combination of grey steely tones and glossy black from the dark stone tiled flooring and exposed Shikumen-esque brick walls, silver and bronze reflections from mirrors on the ceiling and walls, and a hint of gold coming off the soft lighting. Their design concept of half-mod, half-industrial leans towards east-meets-west, with three private dining rooms, one with upright chairs and another modern tatami style, along with a sushi bar in the center of the room with a gigantic circular carving of the Maison Asano logo on the wall. Course sets are made with the strictest of standards to traditional sashimi and sushi dishes while customers can also expect to receive an innovative and truly unique experience. Course sets come in a variety of two options; Original ¥888, and their famous ¥1380 Omakase Course. Executive Chef Liam Kuo heads the kitchen, bringing his 14+ year experience and expertise. The dishes change according every night, whereby the cuts of sashimi depend on the catch of the day – fresh fish brought in every day and divvied up that night.
