Dinner was good. I liked the tasty Chinese cucumber soup, tasty beef cubes, tea varieties, and the after-dinner performance, with a mix of entertaining performers.

The Chinese cuisine served is very good. I especially liked the half duck, Signature Kung Pao shrimp, sauteed beef cubes, and scallion oil pancakes. The inside of the restaurant could use an upgrade. It was noisy during our visit, due to some type of car salesmen gathering filling the main portion of the restaurant. The theatre performance which began at about 8 pm, was fairly nice, and included magic tricks, Beijing opera, and Sichuan-type ace changing performance.

This restaurant has a wonderful variety of traditional Chinese cuisine. It specializes in crayfish and Peking duck. It's a great place to bring visitors from abroad. The food is good and they have a lively stage show that's very entertaining.

Great price for what is offered. Different options for everyone. Food was delicious. With your friends you can share table and every dish. If you like to try spicy Chinese food visit this place.

After visiting Huajia Yiyuan restaurant in Beijing, I am learning to love Chinese! I was not necessarily a fan of Chinese food until this trip, but have definitely done a 360!

Our hotel was nearby and they recommended this restaurant for the Peking Duck. We turned up and were drawn in by the ducks hanging in the window and chefs busy slicing them. While there were some groups of western tourists there were also plenty of Chinese. We were assisted by Jacky who spoke good English and encouraged us to wait for a table in the main room so we could watch the show. At this time there were some musicians playing traditional instruments. Once seated we navigated the menu (pictures and some English ). As the duck takes some time we ordered some pork balls and wok fried beans with pork to start. Sensational! Jacky also threw in a duck soup as well- very tasty. It so happened that an Australian chardonnay was on the specials list that night so we couldn't say no. The duck arrived in all its glory, expertly sliced and beautifully presented with vegetable and sauce accompaniments and beautiful delicate rolled pancakes. We ate the lot. Meanwhile the show continued with a magician, an opera singer and an amazing man who managed to change face masks with a twitch of his cape. This feast and entertainment cost us just over 500rmb. It was a memorable evening with great food and helpful service. Highly recommended!

Good atmosphere at the courtyard. Not very sophisticated food but very good traditional food. Had the duck and some pork Kung pai and some additional appetizers.

The duck was excellent. We also had braised green beans which were also delicious. I especially loved the ambience. I would recommend this as a great tourist experience.

I was introduced to this restaurant by an expat about 10 years ago and I keep going back every time I'm in town. So I've been to it about 6-7 times. I also recommend it to all of my friends heading to Beijing.
Why? Because the food is in excellent quality, the dishes are both well prepared and presented. The atmosphere is very authentic and you see a lot of locals. It has served quite a few (western) celebrities, too.
At 8 pm they also have a kind of a show to entertain the guests.
As in many restaurants in China you can bring your own alcohol for no charge. It's not about making your bill smaller but have a drink you really like with such a good food. Especially handy in case your drink is wine. There is pretty decent selection of wines in the store just next door.

A fabulous find, scrumptious food especially the Peking Duck, and authentic Chinese entertainment. So much so we went back for a second time! Special thanks to Jackie for looking after us so well on both occasions!

This might not be the most ‘traditional’ duck restaurant in Beijing but it is the one I most frequent. Get a table in the main restaurant if you want to watch the show (includes magic, music, peking opera as well as balloon models for the kids. It starts from around 7pm-830pm), a table outside if you want to smoke or a private room if you want to be noisy! If you have WeChat add their English speaking waiter Jackie — jackiejia4 — hewill help you book a table and assist you all evening (really useful if any guests have allergies or special requirements) also tip-top: they do sell alcohol but we always bring our own. Oh, and it’s buy one get one free on beers during the week! It gets busy around showtime and national holidays (so, again, get in touch with Jackie before hand and he will get you a good table!)

This restaurant is an experience and really recommended. The atmosphere is rather genuine, the personnel is friendly, competent and quick. All the dishes we tried, including the signature Peking duck, were delicious. Book in advance unless you want to wait for a table.

the 398 meal has a lot of food-roasted duck, fish, beef. It's almost enough for 2 meals and the tastes are fine. except that roasted duck bones were not well done...

We had Peking duck on our culinary bucket list and this place popped up on trip adviser in the top ten places to have it in Beijing - and was only 500m from our hotel! There was a wait system with seating outside (the sign of any truly great restaurant in Beijing it seems) but we didn’t have to wait long. The menu had English descriptions as well as images and a couple of the wait staff spoke excellent English too. We had the dumplings which were some of, if not the best we’ve ever had, followed by our Peking Duck. It was incredible. I’m not normally a skin person but I made an exception and wow it did not disappoint. Such a great meal and at a very reasonable price too.

I try to stop by here every time I'm in Beijing. The food is presently well, tastes good, and is a great place to bring tourists for the traditional feel while the food is slightly more contemporary. They are somewhat child friendly. I like bawang chicken salad (its spicy though!) and candied yams off menu. The pastries shaped like little birds are hits with children.

We loved this place. A great dining experience. The interior is like an outdoor courtyard and the service was superb ... really friendly and helpful.
The waiters and waitresses spoke excellent English and the menu has English descriptions. We had fried dumplings and the Peking duck which were both delicious. Very good value for the quality.
The entertainment was done with real style too.
We are going back for dinner tomorrow.

We was extremely lucky to get a Saturday night booking at short notice. We was greeted by staff who quickly organised an English speaking waiter to assist. He was attentive and helpful. The actual restaurant is like a Pandora’s box and has many covers. The show was on at 8 downstairs. We was first seated upstairs but luckily was offered downstairs seating.
We had wine and many dishes. The fried rice is one of the best we have tasted and the beef dishes are superb. For an English palette the duck was slightly under done and not so crispy but this is a very small quip.
Overall a very busy and and fun evening with a bill That was not that expensive. They ordered a taxi for us and explained to the driver where to go in Chinese. Overall a fantastic evening and made to feel welcome.

As our colleague is French, so our company want invited her for something Chinese, so we choose here!
We took a big room in the back of the house, look at the pic, it is very Chinese, there has a big sofa area near the dinning table, very comfortable!
Food was delicious, we ordered the roasted duck, the the bones they can make salt and pepper duck bones, it was so nice, also they can make a duck soup with the bones as well, but we need to pay extra for making it, I forgot how much, about 50rmb I guess!
The fish had a nice taste too, the dessert was very interesting and nice, it worth to try!
Hope my reviews can help!

I followed the recommendation from a travel book and visited this restaurant. i was fully blown away by the wide selection they offer. just browsing through their menu with nice food photos takes 10 mins. ended up i have to jot down what i would like to eat, and have to further trim down the list because there are only the two of us. it is the type of restaurant where you can find literary every dish you would want to try. plus the price is very reasonable.
the waitress is very helpful. she saw that we were ordering six dishes, she suggested one of the dish be reduced to half standard size. eventually, we only had 5 dishes, because one of them took a bit too long and we canceled it. the JiaJangMian is sooooooooo out of this world. a must try. and also some of the entre are also very tasty. we basically finished every single piece of food on the table.
delicious food.
bonus also is they accept international credit card.
